Exploring Petroleum Systems of the Offshore Indus and Kutch Basins

Author Profile:

Andrew Pepper is a globally renowned Petroleum Systems Analyst and Geologist with over four decades of experience in hydrocarbon exploration. He began his career in Pakistan in 1981 and has since held senior roles at BP, Hess, and BHP—including as Chief Geologist and VP of Unconventional Exploration. He is the founder of This is Petroleum Systems LLC (t!Ps) and currently collaborates with HyRes Geoscience Pvt. Ltd. in Pakistan.

About the Talk:

This session focuses on the yet-to-be-unlocked prospectivity of the Indus Delta and adjacent offshore-deepwater basin, which remains one of the few remaining untapped Cenozoic sedimentary wedges globally. Using the advanced exploration tool ExCaliber™, Andrew Pepper will present a 3D Earth Model that integrates geological and well data from the Lower Indus Basin, Kirthar Fold Belt, and Kutch Basin—extending to the ultra-deep Indus Fan.

The talk will highlight:

• Insights from conjugate margin geology (Seychelles)

• Distribution and geochemistry of petroleum vs. dry holes

• A modern framework for both offshore and new onshore plays
