PAPG is an integral part of Pakistan E & P sector, is affiliated with American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and is trying to enhance its interaction with academia. This year PAPG Executive Committee arranged Geological field trips for the Industry–Academia to the Eastern Salt Range and 70% of student participation was supported from PAPG funds that included students from various universities of Pakistan.

Pakistan Association of the Petroleum Geoscientists (PAPG) under the Chairmanship of Syed Iftikhar Mustafa Rizvi organizes various Lectures under the “PAPG Continuous Professional Development Program (CPDP)-2022. PAPG has a legacy of conducting a series of technical lectures, field trips and workshops by inviting renowned presenters/experts, where industry professionals & academia join together for knowledge sharing interactive session. However, this year, newly elected ExCom of the PAPG has also planned technical events (lecture series & field trips) for their members."
PAPG-SPE Annual Technical Symposium is an exciting technical event of the upstream Oil and Gas industry of Pakistan. The Symposium will bring forward the latest technical presentations from both G & G and Petroleum Engineering showcasing technology being and intended to be used by the Oil and Gas industry in the country.
The purposes of PAPG are to advance the earth sciences especially as they relate to petroleum, natural gas and other subsurface fluids and mineral resources
PAPG has delivered many interesting lectures & arranged field excursions related to the oil & gas exploration for the academicians in the recent past and other are under way in the current year.
The organization has grown to more than 2500 members now, representing all the geographical parts of the country and all the active oil companies
